- Inguinal Hernia
This type of hernia is the most common type of all. Around 70% of hernia patients account for inguinal hernia. When the intestines of your body are pushed through the weak portion or a tear in the lower abdominal muscle wall, towards the inguinal canal, this type of hernia occurs. In men, the inguinal canal is referred to as the region where the spermatic cord passes from the abdomen to the scrotum, whereas in women, this is the region that includes a ligament holding the uterus in position. This type of hernia is more common in men than in women.
